Your new jewelry will naturally patina with time and handling. To remove fingerprints, lightly rub the piece with a polishing cloth (breathe on it if necessary).

This next step of Removing the patina is not recommended for Mokume Jewelry. The pattern will disappear.  But if you prefer you can completely remove the patina by dipping it in Tarn-X, rinse in hot water, and dab dry with a soft towel. Use a blow dryer to remove any trapped water. Mokume Gane: Translated from Japanese means “wood eye metal”. This rare metal lamination process was developed and used by Japanese craftsmen in the 17th century for the adornment of samuri swords.  This cross began as a 1” billet of fused copper, brass, nickel and bronze.
